What is weight?

A
  • Force acting on it due to gravity.
  • Depend on where it is.
  • Acts on a single point: Centre of mass.

Q

How do we calculate the weight?

A

Weight (N)= Mass (kg) x Gravitational Field Strength (N/kg).

  • The weight of a object is directly poportional to the mass of the object.
  • Determine an objects weight by using a calibrated spring-balance, Newtonmeter.
