Force and Motion Flashcards
What is a force and what is used to measure it?
A force is either a push or a pull on an object to make it move. It is measured using a Newton meter.
What is acceleration?
Increase in speed or rate of an object.
Give an example of unbalanced forces?
The weaker force is gravity and the stronger force is air thrust therefore it being an unbalanced force.
What is friction and what happens when it occurs?
A resistance encountered when one body moves relative to another with which it’s in contact with.
What is a force field?
It is a barrier made up of energy and particles that blocks any type of forces from getting past it.
What is a pivot?
The central point where an object turns out from.
What is the formula for finding the moment of an object
Moment = force x distance
What is the mass of an object?
Mass is the measure of an objects resistance to moving.
What is the weight of an object?
Is the measure of how heavy an object is. The higher the mass the higher the weight of an object will measure.
What is force measured in?
Newtons
