- Flattened lesions that are caused by HPV on the ball of the foot
- Small blaack dots may be visible caused by bleeding of small blood vessels
- Tender when squeezed and causes discomfort when walking

Fungal cream

- Wash with soap and dry thoroghly and antifungal treatment can be applied
- Fungistatic and fungicidal treatment
- Terbinfine kills fungus and is usually applied once or twice a week

A
- Slow down rate at wich fungus grows
- Apply 2-3 times a day for 2-4 weeks
- Carry on treatment after infection has cleared to stop returning

Corns
A
- Hard and soft corns
- Hard corns are layers of dead skin that build up on the tops of toes and on the outside of the little toe
- Base of corn is on skin surface causing pain when rubbing
- Soft corns are between toes which are white and feel rubbery in texture

- No central point and less sharply defined
- Commonly appear on the ball of the foot outside big toe
- Hard tough yellowish in colour and painful

- Salicyclic acid which removes the layers of hard skin use a foot file or a pumice stone
- Cushioning products can be used to relieve pressure use moisturising cream

Plantar Fasciitis
A
- Pain is worse when walking or after resting
- Pain feels better after exercise but its difficult to raise foot off the floor

Treatment
Planter fasciitis
A
- Eased at home by resting foot on a stool and placing an ice pack in a towel on the painful area for up to 20 mins every 2 to 3 hours
- Wear wide comfortable shoes with low heel and do exercise that does not put pressure on the feet such as swimming
- Paracetamol can be used as pain relief with soft insoles or heel pads that can be placed in the shoes

- Dry skin at the heel thickens and it is hard and less flexible
- High pressure put on the heel skin streches if the skin is too infexible then it cracks

- Cracks may bleed and become inflammed and can get infected
