Causes
Ear wax
A
- Some people produce it faster leeding to build up
- Narrow ear canal slows down which may cause blocking fully

What are the symptoms?
A
- Difficulty hearing
- Pain in the ear
- Tinnitus (rinnging noise)
- Temporary deafness after swimming

Treatment for ear wax
A
- Loosen ear wax using olive oil, urea hydrogen peroxide
- Earex (Otex) if no improvement after 3 days then refer to pharmacist

Symptoms
Otis media
A
- Infection of the middle of the ear common in children
- Hearing loss feaver and tinnius
- Baby pull and tugs ears
- Could cause ruptured eardrum if not treated could have discharge
- Paracetamol or ibuprofen to manage pain or antibiotics

Glue ear
A
- Long term build up of thick or sticky fluid causing hearing loss
- Chronic Otis media

Otitis externa
A
- Bacterial or fungal infection that effects ear canal
- In children too much water gets into ear removing protective ear wax
- Easier for germs to thrive
- Pain itching dulled hearing and discharge

Treatment for otitis externa
A
- Use earcalm spray contains acetic acid
- Anti fungal and antibacterial only for adults and children over 12

Who is it for?
A
- Children under 12 can’t use Earcalm or severe pain refer to GP

What are the symptoms?
A
Discharge from ear could indicate infection

A
- Prologed hearing difficulty may be serious conditions

- Has customer already tried removing using ear bud which pushes ear wax futher in down ear canal
