- Evidence suggest babies do best if they have nothing but breastmilk for first 6 months
- Cow’s milk is not recommended for under 12 months

- Flu given as a nasal spray for children yearly

- Temperature over 38 degrees as body is trying to fight off an infection
- Shivers, hot forehead, poor appetite, irritability

Treatment options
Fever
A
- Child dose of ibuprophen or paracetamol e.g. neurophen child or calpol
- Paracetamol from 2 months old and ibuprophen from 3 months old
- Dose of paracetamol recommended after MenB vaccine
- Encourage the child to drink fluids
- Check for signs of dehydration (dry mouth and sunken eyes
