GB1 Indications
- Eye problems: Eye pain, redness, swelling and pain of the eyes, lacrimation on exposure to wind, itching of the eyes, redness and itching of the inner and outer canthus, short sightedness, Superficial Visual Obstruction, dimness of vision, night blindness, glaucoma.
- Wind: Deviation of the mouth and eye, Throat Painful Obstruction, headache, pain of the supraorbital ridge.
- Heat: LV Yang/Heat Rising effecting the head - headache, eye problems, similar to Taiyang which is used more.
Local point for manifestations of heat - pain, inflammation, etc

GB2 Location
In the hollow between the intratragic notch posteriorly and the condyloid process of the mandible anteriorly, immediately below SI-19. Locate this point with the mouth wide open.
GB2 Needling
Slightly posterior insertion 0.5-1 cun. Should be needled with the mouth wide open. Patient can close the mouth after needling.

GB2 Indications
1. Benefits ears: Tinnitus, otitis media, deafness, redness, swelling, pain and purulent discharge from the ear, itching of the ear.
2. Eliminates wind/clears heat: TMJ disorder, trigeminal neuralgia, facial paralysis, mumps, toothache, Windstroke, deviation of the mouth and eye, difficulty in masticating, disorientation.
Primary: Wry mouth, toothache, tinnitus, deafness

SJ21 (Er Men - Ear Gate) - In the depression anterior to the supratragic notch and behind the posterior border of the condyloid process of the mandible. The point is located with the mouth open.
SI19 (Ting Gong - Hearing Palace) - Anterior to the tragus and posterior to the condyloid process fo the mandible in the depression formed when the mouth is open.

Anterior to the ear, in a hollow above the upper border of the zygomatic arch, directly superior to Xiaguan (ST7).

Perpendicular insertion 0.3 - 0.5 cun
GB3 Caution
Avoid deep needling into the zygomaticoorbital artery and vein. Moxibustion can be used.

GB3 Indications
1. Benefits the ears: Deafness, tinnitus, purulent discharge from the ear, dimness of vision, pain of the face, toothache of the upper jaw, stiffness of the lips.
2. Eliminates wind: Headache, aversion to wind and cold, chills and fever, hemiplegia, deviation of the mouth and eye, lockjaw, clonic spasm.
Primary: Deafness, Migraine, Tinnitus, Toothache, Trismus (lockjaw), Wry face

1. Eliminates wind/clears heat: One-sided headache, head wind (with pain at bilateral Taiyang, headache with heat in the body, Visual Dizziness, pain and redness of the outer canthus.
Tinnitus, earache.
Clonic spasm, lockjaw, epilepsy, deviation of the mouth and eye, toothache, sneezing.
3. Activates channel and alleviates pain: Neck pain, wrist pain, inability to flex the wrist, joint wind with sweating.

Febrile disease with absence of sweating, agitation of the Heart with no desire to eat, heat in the middle jiao.
