Greek Chiton
Main garment worn by both men and women.
Large rectangular piece of fabric (wool or linen), folded over the body held together at the shoulder with a brooch or a pin called the fibula.
Men: Knee length
Women: Ankle length
Roman Toga
Developed from the Greek Chiton.
Two squares of cloth sewn together at the shoulders and sides leaving an opening for the neck and the arms. Later it lengthened and sleeves were added it was now called the toga tilaris.
Greek Himation
Large rectangular wrap worn by men and women.
1,5 x 3m
Roman Toga
Semi circular when folded made of wool.
2,5 x 6m
Wrapped around the body worn over the tunic.
Exclusively men, women wore a stola.
Roman Pallium
Similar to the greek himation.
Square n shape.
Worn by roman men.
