Part the labia
Ask them to strain down
Ask them to cough

How is the internal examination done?

Lubricate the right index and middle fingers
Insert the right index finger, followed by the right middle finger
Press on the tummy with the left hand
Asses the 4 sides of the cervix
Assess the 4 fornices (corners)
Bimanually palpate the uterus
Palpate the adenexae

How do you bimanually palpate the uterus and palpate the adenexae?

Push on the cervix to move the uterus up into the left hand

Push the ovaries into the left hand
