More left wing wanted to smash the system in order to benefit the worker.

Saw Fascism as a tool through which Italy could achieve national greatness.

Power alongside tradition - realise that fascism must fuse with elite
What did Hardliners want?
Mostly the RAS, and a dictatorship run by Fascists and all institutions subverted
Why was Farinacci appointed?
To help control the RAS. Mussolini wanted someone else to do the hard work
Why was Farinacci dismissed?
Mussolini wanted to take away the RAS’ leader and figure head
