how to deal with deception
A
- debrief post-interview
- told true aims with full details
- e.g. any other groups involved - lack of right to withdraw data from publication
- remind ppts behaviour is normal/typical
- if feel embarrassed/stressed offer counselling

how to deal with informed consent
A
- give ppts consent form including details of aims
- under 16 cannot consent
- presumptive consent - gain consent from similar group of ppl not doing study
- prior informed consent - consent on things that may happen
- parental consent - consent for under 16’s
- consent not gained
- lack of right to withdraw data
- give debrief and retrospective consent can be gained

- right to withdraw - at any time
- debrief - reassure ppts behaviour is normal
- offer counselling if needed

A
anonymity - all data kept anonymous
e.g. use numbers/fake name
