Pathogenesis?

A

Unknown - there are many theories - ruptured capillaries, upper airway obstruction, coagulopathies, etc etc

Most obvious clinical sign? Other CS?

A

Epistaxis, but you do not see it in all horses

Other - labored breathing, decreased performance, loss of speed, coughing

A

Furosemide, 4 hours PRIOR to exercise

A

Caudodorsal lung fields (think of a dog in CHF - you treat with furosemide b/c fluid in caudodorsal lung field. You treat this with furosemide too)
