List the three learning domains
- Cognitive - Involves developing intellect, processing new information, and storing and retrieving knowledge.
- Affective - Involves emotions, values, and attitudes, and is linked to student motivation and engagement.
- Psychomotor - Involves developing motor skills, including fine motor, gross motor, and perceptual skills
Define formative and summative evaluations – planning, formative, summative, when do you do, what can they be used for?
- Formative evaluation: a systematic assessment occurring before or during a learning activity to improve the educational process. Conducted before a program begins or at the beginning of a program. Used to assess progress and make necessary adjustments to improve methodology as indicated by the analysis
- Summative evaluation: done at the conclusion of program of learning activity. Conducted to assess outcomes and is a program actually accomplished what it was designed to do
List presenter never-evers (table 12.3)
- Never give an apologetic beginning
- Never use wrong name
- Never use gimmicks
- Never ridicule
- Never say you compressed your presentation to save time
- Never say you would have brought more materials if possible
- Never tell participants what you have forgotten
