Check book membership (donate but no participation)
-Weakening of union power and influence since the 1980’s
-Interest groups have gained support but yet some haven’t achieved anything
-Highest signed petition was readvoating article 50 6.1 mill

A

No
Their clear influence from insider groups like CBI and ERT
We don’t all have the ear of policy makers

How does parliament provide opportunity’s for interest group activity?

A

-Parliament committees (dominations by sectional groups unions NFU and federations)
-Govt consultations when drafting gay marriage in 2012 seeking views for interest group
-2008 consultations about tobacco sales by departments of health, so when consultations were occurring they had wide variety of opinions

A

Yes
2011 undercover journalist filmed the chief lobbyist at lobbying from bell Pottinger boasting on beheld of manufacturing of dyson hoover, had ensured that the PM falsed concerns over copyright in figment with meeting with leaders in china

-Lobbying can be positive, stonewall to help reverse anti discriminatory legislation

Groups like ALF and anonymous should not be listed as they will break laws
Anti poll tax protest extremely undemocratic due to civil disobedience getting rewarded
