Do you have any personal involvement with matrics or LionHeart?

A

No, however I am aware that matrics is a network that supports professionals who are in the early stages of their careers.
Lionheart is a charity which provides support to past and present members of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and their families during times of need.

Can you provide an example of where you have identified a conflict of interest?

A

On Oswestry WTW a conflict of interest arose on the project in which I had to advise on. The Project Director, employed by JMS but working for Advance Plus, wanted to appoint a JMS Affiliate as a subcontractor

A

My assistant is Muslim, therefore during RAMADAM, I was flexible around working hours, work duties and breaktimes.
- Organised meetings for mornings when he was less tired
- Allowed him to begin work earlier and finish earlier, to allow for him to sleep in the afternoon

A

Yes, I undertake CPD every month and will ensure I complete the 20 hours / year CPD

Yes, MWH Treatment Ltd hold £10m PI
It is on an each and every basis
Covers all current and past employees
And contains run off cover for 6 years

Cultural or Protocol Considerations: Accepting gifts or hospitality that are offered as part of cultural traditions or protocol, where refusal may cause offense or damage business relationships.

Promotional Items: Accepting promotional items or branded merchandise of nominal value, such as pens, calendars, or notepads, that are offered as part of marketing or promotional activities by clients or business partners.

A

Review both documents, any area’s I am not sure, consult Legal to provide guidance on any necessary updates or adjustments to ensure compliance.

How have you dealt with a complaint?

A

No, however if I received a complaint I would follow the following steps:
- Acknowledge Receipt
- Issue complainant a copy of CHP
- Ensure it is dealt with by companies nominated complaints handling person
- Ensure clear communication with complainant
- If it can’t be resolved internally, consult a third party
- Notify PI Insurers Immediately

A

Yes, they were one of four tendering companies, therefore it is not permitted for any JMS employee’s to be involved in the tender and selection process of packages of work that included JMS Affiliate companies

The late tender was included on the commercial assessment, as this demonstrated we followed the procurement rules

A

I advised that that we must uphold the terms of the tender process, and I was not willing to analyse the tender submission due to the tendering terms being breached and therefore a risk of collusion and disallowed costs
