what are the ethical guidelines with children? (6)

A

Consent-informed consent- parents/guardians have to give informed consent on behalf of child-also try to get consent from child
Deception-try not to deceive but children easy to deceive (lack of understanding)
Confidentiality- children’s identities should be protected through numbers are pseudonyms
Debrief- difficult to debrief children because of lack of understanding but should attempt to
Withdraw-difficult for children to withdraw so have to be sure that they can through close monitoring
Protection from harm- hildren=vulnerable group-have to be extremely careful that they aren’t harmed -stress/distress
