What are the 4 ethical principals?
Respect, competence, responsibility and integrity.
What does respect mean?
Valuing the dignity and worth of all persons.
What does competence mean?
The ability to provide specific services that require specialist knowledge and to regonise the limits of their skills, knowledge and training.
What does responsiblity mean?
Avoiding harm of clients and valuing their duties as a psychologist.
What does integrity mean?
What are the 6 ethical guidelines for human research?
Consent, debrief, confidentiality, deception, right to withdraw and protection from harm.
What does consent mean?
The participant agreeing to be in the study, knowing what will happen.
-Must be informed consent.
What does debrief mean?
Discussing the study with the particpant before and after to determind how they felt about it, including if they were decieved during it or not.
What does confidentiality mean?
Keeping someones detail anonymous/ unknown inculding names.
