Consequentialism
is based on decisions about the consequence of that decision. the right end result justifies the action

a theory based on the idea that we have a moral duty to behave in a particular way focusing on the action than the consequences

the relationship between humans and animals. we have a moral duty to protect environment and animals
utilitarianism
Considers the sentients both people and animals involved. ethically right decision results in the most happiness for the most people: action constitutes towards the greater good
Contractarianism
relative cost and benefit is the only thing that matters in the decision-making process to consequences for the animal do you not play a part in the decision making
Respect for nature
focuses on the importance of species or groups of animals rather than individuals. makes sure nature has a natural order
animal rights
there are strict limits on what we should do or with animals no matter how beneficial the outcome may be to humans because they are just as important as humans

we feel more strongly about animals we have a relationship with
human centred
humans are the most important species on the planet and have no duty to care for other species or to preserve nature
Sentience-centred
deciding how to treat animals is based on how sentient they are. it considers whether animals can experience pleasure and pain or feel and think
environment centred
all living things are dependent on one another and humans are not worth more than other species humans must respect all other elements of nature for life to thrive
