DNR FACTS ••

A

Any doctor can fill in the DNR form. ••The fact that the patient doesn’t want to be resuscitated is sufficient to fill in a DNR form. ••Fill in a DNR form as soon as possible. ••GP are the majority of doctors that tend to fill in DNR forms. ••Don’t wait for other teams to fill in DNR forms. ••Junior doctors need to sign form from senior doctors. ••Doctors are the ones who take DNR decision unless competent patients ask for it. •• Nobody can consent for DNR on the patient’s behalf , but they get to be involved in the discussion.

Well controlled Psychiatric disease and Consent

A

Because there is no mention in the stem that he lacks capacity. Just because he is schizophrenic, that does not mean he lacks capacity. They say his schizophrenia has been well controlled over the last 5 years. Therefore, you must assume he has full capacity and take consent from no other than the patient himself.
