What are the acronyms/needs/skills?

A

Part of establishing trust and rapport is holding unconditional positive regard, showing empathy, being a humble role model, slowing down, not under promising and over delivering, leading the client to discover their own answers, holding confidentiality, and being authentic.
Holding regard for clients is essential for establishing trust and rapport. Empathy allows the coach to appreciate and understand the client’s journey. Allows the coach to acknowledge the client’s right and experience however they want.

Acting as a humble role model without bragging obout themselves rather serve the best interest of the client.

Slowing down allows the client to continue to establish trust and rapport without rushing the client and be completely present for the client.

Not breaking promises and under delivering allows the coach to create a stronger bond with the client and going beyond the minimum.

Creating collaboration with the client allows the coach to lead them towards discovering new insights, become autonomous and competent.

Carl Rogers defines unconditional positive regard as “being completely accepting toward another person, without reservations”

> Be a humble role model - ‘walk the talk’ without being boastful, arrogant or rude
> Slow down - trust/rapport aren’t earned in a single moment and must be continued in every coaching session
> Under-promise/over-deliver – carefully monitor words carefully both during/in between sessions
> Client finds the answer as far as is possible - about fostering growth not forcing it; preserve client autonomy
> Confidentiality is crucial - both oral & written
> Be authentic - ‘share what is there’ honestly - communication results in growth; without judgment or criticism
