EOP Intro and Rules of Usage Flashcards
What are the two direct entry EOP procedures?
- E-0 (Rx Trip or SI)
- ECA-0.0 (Loss of All A/C Power)
What are the 3 EOP’s that have immediate actions?
- E-0 (Rx Trip or SI)
- ECA-0.0 (Loss of All A/C Power)
- FR-S.1 (Response to Nuclear Power Generation/ATWS)
What conditions define Adverse Containment?
- Containment pressure greater than or equal to 5#
- Radiation levels greater than or equal to 10^5 R/hr
- Temp greater than or equal to 196.8F (when in extended loss of A/C)
What are the rules of useage regarding exiting Adverse Containment?
- Once pressure <5#, adverse containment may be exited.
- Once radiation <10^5 R/hr, adverse containment may be exited. However, if levels exceeded 10^6 R/hr, adverse containment must remain in effect.
Do continuous action steps apply when transitioning to another EOP?
They apply after transition is made to another procedure if the action is NOT inappropriate for or inconsistent with the strategy of the subsequent EOP.
List the 6 Critical Safety Functions in order of priority.
- Subcriticality (S)
- Core Cooling (C)
- Heat Sink (H)
- Integrity (P)
- Containment (Z)
- Inventory (I)
List the CSF path classifications in order of priority.
- RED: CSF under extreme challenge
- Orange: CSF under severe challenge
- Yellow: CSF off-normal
- Green: CSF satisfied
When must the CSFST’s be monitored?
Begins upon exiting E-0 or when directed in E-0.
During what EOP network procedures are the CSFST’s monitored for information only?
- ECA-0.0 thru -0.2
- ES-1.3
- ECA-1.3
What are the rules of usage for implementing ES-0.0? (Re-diagnosis)
Shall only be used when the crew is unsure that they have made the correct transition to the proper procedure and:
- SI is in service or is required.
- E-0 has been completed (meaning exited).
- E-series EOP is in progress.
Describe the procedure hierarchy.
- FRP takes priority over all plant procedures. (Unless ECA-0 series or ES-1.3)
- EOP takes priority over all plant except FRP’s.
- Emergency remote procedures take priority over the remaining plant procedures.
- AOP’s take priority over ARP’s.
- ARP’s take priority over NOP’s.
What do the ORP category numbers mean?
- 0 -> Non Accident
- 1 -> Loss of Primary or Secondary Coolant
- 2 -> Faulted S/G
- 3 -> SGTR
In regards to EOP’s, what do the E, ES, and ECA mean?
- E: Guidelines
- ES: Sub-guidelines
- ECA: Emergency Contingency Action Guidelines
