Pharmacology and presentation of Enoxaparin?
A
100mg in 1ml prefilled syringe
- Low molecular weight heparin (LMWH) anticoagulant.
Increases the activity of antithrombin Ill (a naturally occurring anticoagulant) causing inhibition of multiple coagulation factors, particularly factor Xa.

A
- STEMI in conjunction with fibrinolytic therapy

- Known severe allergy

A
- Clinically significant bleeding
- At risk of bleeding. (PCI checklist)
- Pregnancy.

Dosing Regimes of Enoxaparin?
A
Adult Sub Cut into Abdominal Wall once, with Dosage based on estimated weight and age
- Age less than 75
• <60kg = 60mg:0.6ml
• 60-69kg = 70mg:0.7ml
• 70-79kg = 80mg:0.8ml
• 80-89kg = 90mg:0.9ml
• >89kg = 100mg:1ml - Age 75 years or older
• <60kg = 45mg:0.45ml
• 60-69kg = 50mg:0.5ml
• 70-79kg = 60mg:0.6ml
• 80-89kg = 70mg:0.7ml
• >89kg = 75mg:0.75ml

- 10-30 minutes

- 12-24 hours
