What emergency exits are provided on this aircraft?
- Both Pilot windows - Interior and exterior release handles
- 3 Cabin Emer Exits - Interior and exterior release handles (Type 3)
- Boarding door/airstair. Interior & exterior release handles (Type4 )
- Push out cabin windows
For aircraft equipped with the Emergency Flotation system, what sea state is the system designed to keep the helicopter upright and afloat long enough for all crew and passengers to evacuate the aircraft?
Mid sea state 4- (Wave height 4 to 8 feet with a wind speed of 17 – 21 knots)
How is the Emergency Flotation system deployed?
System must be Armed and then either water contact by the immersion switches or Pilot activation of the EMER FLOATS switch on either collective.
What is the maximum airspeed to Arm the Floats?
80 Knots
If the floats inadvertently deploy in flight, what limits must the pilot observe?
50 KIAS in a climb, 55 KIAS in level flight, and 60 KIAS in a descent/autorotation.
30 degrees angle of bank and limit rate of climb or descent to 1000 fpm or less
If equipped, what is the design capacity of the Life Raft?
14 people with an overload capacity of 21
How is the Life Raft deployed?
Manually by pulling the D-ring on the top front access panel of each sponson or Electrically using the Life Raft control panel by setting the Safe/Arm switch to Arm and moving the JETT switch to deploy the raft.
Once in the water, when should the lift rafts be deployed?
After the main rotor blades have stopped turning
After a Helicopter ditching and during evacuation when should the life vests be inflated?
Do not inflate life vests until clear of the helicopter
