-Rosa Parks as she refused to give up her seat on the bus (in the ‘coloured section’) for a white man->she was arrested and fined for refusal

-Black churches as they could easily spread news and keep all informed

-the first mass protest for civil rights in the US
What was Martin Luther King’s involvement?
-from the Montgomery bus boycott Martin Luther King emerged as a prominent leader after becoming the leader of the Montgomery Improvement Association and successfully leading the bus boycott

-a 2 to 1 majority by the Federal Court deemed bus segregation unconstitutional
