Effects Of Anaesthesia On Major Organs Flashcards
1
Q
How do anaesthetic agents produce a state of Anesthesia on the brain
A
It is unknown how most anaesthetic agents produce a state of anaesthesia but it is suggested that they act through a combination of effects on specific receptors in the CNS and through effect on the cell membrane or neuronal cells.
Anaesthesia causes a reversible depression on the CNS function resulting in loss of consciousness.
