- went on during collectivisation meaning teachers became associated with the gov - resisted by the countryside
- 40% physically attacked in the 1st year
what were fees like in higher education?
- high to keep costs down so access to secondary & uni education was limited
- party & trade unions offered scholarships & grants to enter higher education HOWEVER children of party officials were heavily favourited
