A

alexei stakhanovite mined 102 tonnes of coal in 6 hours in august 1935 (supposedly) & was used as propaganda to appeal to the heroic instincts of soviet workers - alexei was rewarded greatly, setting an example

rubbish coordination between the different industry branches - factory managers hoarded resources in short supply to meet targets, causing even more scarcity of goods
