binges not regularly accompanied by compensatory behaviours

what are the management strategies for binge eating disorder?
CBT or interpersonal psychotherapy
what are the criteria for anorexia nervosa?
significantly low body weight for individuals age/development stage (BMI under 18.5 in adults)
persistent behaviour patterms to prevent normal weight restoration
low body weight central to persons self evaluation (possibly inaccurately perceived)
what are the management strategies for anorexia nervosa?
family-based treatment (children)
CBT (enhanced in adults)
what are some of the physical complications of eating disorders?
impaired cognitive function, hair loss, low BP, anaemia, impaired renal function, osteoporosis, constipation, infertility
how are high risk eating disorder patients managed?
meal/nutritional support
patient distress support
close physical monitoring or inpatient treatment
