A
Transmitted - Blood bourne - mother to baby - contaminated instruments - unsafe sex - blood transfusion or direct contact S/S: low grade fever, jnt/mm pain Chronic hepatitis (liver failure): 95% infants Viable for up to 7 days

Transmitted - bodily fluids, feces, ingestion of contaminated food/drink
S/S: very fatigue, jnt pain, clay stool, jaundice (yellow skin/eyes)
Viable up to 28 days

Transmitted - IV drug users 85% of people contract chronic form S/S: can have no outward signs, cirrhosis (enlarged liver-tender), ankle edema, LE neuropathy Viable for 6-7wks No vaccination

Occurs with extreme alcoholic intake

Sexually transmitted - blood bourne Leading cause of death- Africa 53% homo/bisexuals contracted S/S: swollen lymph glands, rash, SOB, arthritis - may not show until 10-15yrs later PT: improve neuropathy, mm weakness
