To the east of Entre deux Mers. Bergerac produces reds and whites from the same varietals as Bordeaux.
Monbazillac produces noble rot sweet wines from SB and Semillon
Where is Cahors and what is the river that runs though it
East of Bordeaux. River Lot
Cahors makes wines from which varietals. Describe the typical wines of Cahor
Malbec, Merlot and Tannat. Named the black wines they are aged in oak, deeply colored, dark berry fruit and tannic. With age develop notes of cedar and earth
Apart from Cahors what are the other important appellations of SW France. Are these regions PDO or PGI
Madiran, Cotes de Gascogne and Jurancon. PGI

Light bodied dry whites made from Ugni Blanc with aromas of green apple
Where is Madiran in relation to Bordeaux and what style of wines are made there
South of Bordeaux towards the Pyrenees. Wines are highly tannic red blends led by Tannat. Concentrated in color and dark fruit
Where is Jurancon and what style of wines are made there
Way south near the foothills of the Pyrenees. Dry and sweet whites are made here, the most important are the complex sweet wines made from high acid Petite Mensang. Botrytis free the grapes undergo Passerillage and have aromas of apricot and grapefruit sometimes with spicy oak
