16
Q

What is a chorea + differentials for it?

A
  • It is a symptom

- Differentials= Huntington’s + many others

17
Q

What is a tic?

A

Unvoluntary repetitive stereotyped movements or vocalisations

18
Q

What is a major distinguishing feature of tics?

A

Suppressible by the patient for short period of time

19
Q

How patient will feel with a tic?

A
  • Patient experiences growing feeling of anxiety and discomfort during tic suppression
  • When allowed to relax will respond with flurry of tics
20
Q

When do tics usually start?

A

Childhood

21
Q

Motor tics include?

A

Eye blinking
Head jerks
Arm or leg jerks
Complex sequences

22
Q

Vocal tics include?

A

Sniffing
Grunting
Snorting
Complex sequences

23
Q

What is adult onset of tics usually due to?

A

This is usually due to a secondary cause
