PCIC unit responsibilities

who ensures tender age (under 10) GRM Amber Alert broadcasted?
Detective Division Sgt. will ensure Amber Alert
must be every 20 min first 24 hrs, then 1x/hr after that.
Whenever an ncic inquiry is made and the person turns out to be missing
the detective division LT will determine if further investigation is warranted
detective responsibilities regarding GRM for missing juveniles:
. Send GRM and request it repeated every 20 minutes for the first 24 hours, then once per hour after that.
a. Send a General Computer Message to all “All Commanding Officers” including information contained in the GRM, the GRM number and any other pertinent information.
“Delinquent” juveniles and “Dependent” juveniles
delinquent’ has been adjudicated by a juvenile court for a criminal offense. A ‘dependent’ juvenile acquires this designation for non-criminal (status) offenses or social needs. Juveniles falling into
either category will be considered missing from the location of their
placement (foster home, etc.) and not their original residence
. Missing Endangered Person Advisory System (MEPAS), provided by the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP
classification for adults 21 or older who
dont meet criteria for amber alert but are suspicious, and in danger of SBI due do their conditions. Supervisor will determine whether conditions meet criteria and call PSP Watch Center with above
detective sgt makes sure that the detective follows up :
Re-interviews the person who reported the absence within 72 hours after the initial visit and once a week for a minimum period of one (1) month from the reported date of disappearance.
LTMP (Long Term Missing Persons) section of SVU gets :
persons missing for more than 30 days.
when missing person located what does detective do?
prior to the arrival of the assigned investigator (before the 75-74A computer entry), the assigned investigator will enter the computerized Missing Person Report (75-74A), followed immediately by the computerized Missing Person Cancellation (75-52MP). A Supplemental Investigation Report (75-52) is not required.
GRMS are broadcasted for
tender age (under 10) and endangered missing persons
distribution of reports
ensure that the missing persons report is entered into INCT in a timely fashion
- copy scanned into PIIN
- copy to pertinent detective division
- copy retained in district file
