Nausea and vomiting as a result of vertigo, motion sickness, pregnancy, narcotic administration, and alcohol withdrawal.

Adult Dosage - Dimenhydrinate

A

50mg SIVP/IM q4 hrs (dilute in normal saline to 10mL) Patient’s over 65 give 25mg, q15 to max 50mg

Contraindications - Dimenhydrinate

A
  • Hypersensitivity to dimenhydrinate, diphenhydramine, or propylene glycol
  • Narrow angle glaucoma
  • Patients who have ingested large quantities of depressants (including alcohol)
