DIGITAL IN-LINE GAUGE/TOOLS 36 Flashcards
Digital in line gauge..
DOES NOT regulate water flow, but monitors pressure and flow
RED LED readout in PRESSURE (PSI)
BLUE LED READOUT IN WATER FLOW (GPM) -rechargeable lithium ion 9 volt battery (5 hours of operation) -sleep mode and auto shutoff -low battery warning 45 degree elbow -carrying case
gauge should not be reconnected to hose length .
press GREEN on/off button..four dashes will appear under PRESSURE and “r3.00” under FLOW/digital readout should show “O” pressure and flow
if pressure reading is normal or higher and FLOW IS REDUCED, suspect.?
KINKS
if pressure reading is normal or lower and FLOW IS INCREASED…suspect
BURST LENGTH
if digital gauge fails to display , make ANOTHER ATTEMPT TO TURN ON..
IF THIS ATTEMP FAILS, control ff should verify with officer that proper pressure and flow is being received
**hoseline ops CAN CONTINUE”
-3 lengths - 70
4 lengths -80
flow - 225-250 (RESIDUAL PRESSURE, NOZZLE OPEN WATER FLOWING)
-STATIC PRESSURE is not an indicator of sufficient pressure )
When pressure exceeds 200 PSI..
-red digital readout flash high pressure alert –‘HI-P”
-
WATER FLOW EXCEEDS 250 GPM..
-blue readout “HI-F”/HIGH FLOW
LOW FLOW..LESS THAN 80 GPM..
BLUE READOUT/”LO-F
SLEEP MODE..
15 minutes of no water flow..once water flows, digital display will reactivate
no water flow after 30 minutes , digital display will POWER OFF AUTOMATICALLY, if ops are to resume, manually press start button for 4/5 seconds to turn digital display back on
special rechargeable battery / 9 volt lithium ion…
NOT OTHER 9 VOLT MAY BE USED 4 BATTERIES : -1 in digital gauge -1 in clear batter pouch 2 in charger unit at quarters
FULLY CHARGED battery will supply 5 hours of continuous use..
after 3.5 hours/”LO-BATT”–90 MINUTES REMAIN (Swap out after operation)–slow flash
rapid flash–10 minutes remaining (swap out while water is flowing)
-batter test feature (left red button) “BATT GOOD” will display (every tour )
-batteries rotated and recharged WEEKLY and after each use (two in, two out–rotate with charging unit)
-steady red-charging
steady green -fully charged
blinking red-defective/replaced
-RT -2/ FIRE TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT
