Positive ➡️ emotional social skills develop as well as language and motor skills

Developmental connections during the early years is vital for the future

1) at birth to 3 months when the baby is crying and the parent’s responding
- uses voice to communicate - motos skills
- crying - language
- parent’s response - social emotion development ( established self worth and self importance)
- cognitive development ( problem solving strategy- efforts of communication is successful )

2) during 6-9 months, when the child is exposed to strangers
- clings to parents- emotional development shows trust
- fear of strangers - social development mistrust in strangers
- eventually communicates - motor skills using facial expressions, gestures.

3) during 9-12 months when baby engages in play
- search for parents in discomfort
Emotional development - trust in parent
Cognitive development - executes a plan
- crying
Language and motor development
