developmental area questions Flashcards
what are the two principles of the developmental area
the developmental area suggests that behaviours develop over out lifespan and may be in response to nurture or nature influences
individuals may change their thinking and behaviour systemically through crucial stages of development
what are two strengths of this area
1)one strength of this area is that it recognises the behaviour changes in our life span
2)another is that it has practical applications
what are two weaknessess of this area
1) research may break ethical guidelines
2)research often uses a longitudinal design
one strength of this area is that it recognises that behaviour changes over our life span
finish the explanation and evidence
this adds to our understanding of the interaction between nature and nurture helping to identify important influences on childrens behaviour as they develop
Lee lying and truth telling
one strength is that it has lots of practical applications
give the explanation and the evidence
findings from research can be used to help us positively influence children’s behaviour. In chaney’s study we learn that the fun-inhaler can actually improve medical adherence for young asthmatics.
one weakness is that research may break ethical guidlines
finish the explanation and evidence
as children are often use das participants it is difficult to gain consent and protect children from harm. In Banduras study the sample was 72 children aged 37-69 months old
Another weakness is that the researh is often a longitudinal design
give the explanation and evidence
over time subject attrtiion may occur leaving a smaller bias or sam[le, causing a reductino in population validity. Kohlbergs study as it goes on for 12 years
