What is a cross bite?
deviation from the normal bucco-lingual relationship
it can be anterior/posterior, uniateral or bilateral, buccal or lingual
What is a buccal cross bite?
the buccal cusps of the lower teeth are buccal to the buccal cusps o the upper teeth
What is a lingual x bite?
the buccal cusps of the lower teeth occlude lingual to the lingual cusps of the upper teeth
How should x bits be described?
relationship of lower to upper
What is the lee way space?
difference in diameter between the deciduous C D and E and their permanent successors.
which arch has the greatest lee way space?
lower arch
What is overjet?
distance between the upper and lower incisors in the horizontal plane
What is overbite?
overlap of the upper and lower incisors when viewed in the vertical plane
What is the normal overbite?
the upper incisors cover the lower incisors by a third to a half
what is spacing?
teeth do not touch interproximally
what is mandibular displacement?
when closing from rest poisition the mandible disaplces to avoid premature contact
what is a complete overbite?
the lower incisors contact the upper incisors or the palatal mucosa
what is an incomplete overbite?
there is no contact between the palatal mucosa or upper teeth and the lower incisors
what is an AOB?
there is not vertical overalp between the upper and lower incisors when the buccal segment teeth are in contact
