Freud’s 4 Parts of a Drive
Source - part of body from which drive comes
Impetus - amount of intensity in drive
Aim - any action that discharges the tension
Object - target of the action
Most Common Cause of ICH
HTN
Mech of HTN-Induced ICH
Chronic HTN -> lipohyalinosis of small intraparenchymal arteries -> Charcot-Bouchard microanyeurysms -> rupture
2 Most Common Areas of ICH
- Putamen (~33%)
2. Thalamus (10-15%)
Type I Error
Null hypothesis rejected when should have been retained (saying there’s a significant difference when really it’s just chance)
Type II Error
Null hypothesis retained when it should have been rejected (saying no significant difference when really there is)
HIV-Associated Cryptococcal Meningitis (diagnostic test, imaging finding, treatment)
Test: LP - elevated OP, leukocytosis, incr protein
Imaging: Multiple abscesses due to invasion of Virchow-Robin spaces surrounding meningeal vessels
Tx: Amphotericin B
Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder
Lack of interest in eating w/ weight loss or nutritional deficiency, etc etc. Notably w/o AN/BN criteria/disturbance in body image
Drug Urine Durations: Marijuana, Heroin, Cocaine, PCP
MJ: 4 weeks
Heroin: 72 hours
Cocaine: 8 hours
PCP: 8 days
Carbamazepine Water Effect
Vasopressin-like effect, can cause water intoxication and hyponatremia
CJD Prodrome
Vegetative sx: asthenia, sleep problems, appetite disturbances
CJD Life Expectancy
2-7 months
CJD EEG
