A

Very large and mature organization. The technical core is often oriented to mass production. Fully elaborated technical and administrative departments including engineers, market researchers and financial analysts.

The primary goal is efficiency.

Would not do well in a dynamic environment.

What describes a Professional Bureaucracy?

A

The main part is the technical core. The technical core here is made of up highly skilled professionals, such as in hospitals, universities and law firms. The technical core can handle most things due to them being autonomous and proffesional.

They typically provide service instead of tangible goods.

What describes the diversified form?

A

A very large organization which has divided into smaller divisions. Larger administrative support to handle paperwork to and from divisions.
Each of the independent divisions illustrates a machine bureaucracy.

The diversified form helps to solve the problem of inflexibility experienced by a too - large machine bureaucracy.

A

Develops in a complex rapidly changing environment. The design goal is frequent innovation and meeting continually chaning needs as in the aerospace and defense industries.
