What is cutanesous warts (oraganisms)

also called candylomata acuminate — caused by HPV infections (HPVB 6 and 11-LOW NUMBERS)
Most are sexually transmitted (10% prevalence in sexually active)

today most people have HPV vaccine (Gardasil)- protect vs type 6, 11, 16, 18)
6, 11 -most cutaneous warts
16, 18- over 70% cervical cancers

Sx and Ix of cutaneous warts

Answer 2

Sx- often asymtomatic-
vaginal discharge, PCB/IMB, pain
Genital warts present on vulva, vagina, cervix, anus, penis -> painless but can itch or bleed/become inflammed

Ix - clinical dx
but can triple swab STI screeen + shyphillis, HIV, HBV

Often not required but can reduce transmission

medical - (not in pregnancy)-
keratinised warts - imiquimod cream
Non keta -podophyllin
surgical - cryotherapy, laser,

comp- high risk HPV increase risk of anorectal cancers
disfiguring for patients
