Communication temptations
teaches spontaneity of language, fun, power of language, important program
pre- req: spontaneous words, PECS sign
Important components: as many trials as possible, should be done throughout the entire day, constant thinking, power words: Give me…, Help… (shouldn’t stay on these too long)
Done when they’re always using language in normal day life. You do not need to help them to it.
Conversation Checklist
appropriate distance, appr. levels of eye contact, no inappr. levels of touching, acknowledges statements of others, no interrupting, listens, brings up new topics gracefully, leaves old topics in past, rude comments are nonexistent, not a dominant talker, appr. volume, ends conversation gracefully, understands diff. topics for diff. people, jokes and sarcasm
