What does a disclosure officer do?
Examine material retained by police during investigation
Reveal certain material to prosecutor at preparatory stage
Review and reveal material throughout criminal proceedings
Disclose material to the accused at request of prosecutor
What is common law discloser?
Early disclosure where investigator reveals to CPS relevant material e.g. material assisting defence, undermining prosecution case
