Must use BWV when:
A
- Stop and search
- Arresting
- Critical and major incidents
- Using force on person or property
- Searching premises
- Domestic abuse
- Directing people to do something under a power
- In a mental health facility

Do not use BWV when:
A
- Victim statements (would use video recorded interview instead so they don’t have to go to court)
- DASH risk assessments
- Serious sexual offenses first account - must get explicit permission and make aware may be shown to defendant
- Non consent for first account of witnesses and victims

S64 PACE taking photos and videos without their consent

BWV kept for
A
Retained for 31 days
7 years if marked as evidential

Victims and witnesses can see BWV of initial account when:
A
AFTER taken statements (Subject access request).
Do not show anything to suspect unless in interview
