Q
why do lea and young say e/m are criminals?
1. what is 3 ways crime is caused by?
- what is evaluation?
A
- crime is caused by relative deprivation, marginalisation and subcultures.
- e/m are likely to be umemployed so they suffer relative deprivation as they cant afford consumer products promoted by the media.
- they respond by forming subculture which lead to utilatiran crimes such as theft and robbery.
- e/m tend to be margnalised so they lack an organisation to represent their views in society so they result to violence because of the frustration of not being heard.
- crimes that are bought to the police are often from the public . so the police are not racist but black and asians are criminals because they commit more crimes.
evaluation - it is possible that police stereotype black and asian people differently.
