Coupling/Uncoupling Flashcards

1
Q

Coupling will always be initiated via the incoming unit, initially stopping with approximately 2 metres between units.

A

If the taillights are illuminated on the stationary unit, this indicates that the unit is in a Stabled state.

If the taillights are not illuminated this indicates that the unit is in a Secured Stabled state.

Coupling can be carried out between two live units or between a live unit and one in Secured Stable state.

A

When coupling is carried out the Secure Stabled unit will automatically activate to the Battery On state after the couple, however the Pantograph must be commanded to rise and VCB closed once coupling complete.

Uncoupling

A

Depress and hold the black Full Uncouple button for at least 2 seconds to ensure full uncouple is carried out.

If an air leak is heard this means the brake and main pipe valves have not closed - if so repress and hold Full Uncouple or pull manual uncouple handle on coupler.
