stimulates glycogenesis, gluconeogenesis, proteolysis and lipolysis.

increase number of ENac channels in the late DCT and collecting duct.

why can corticosteroids be used as anti-inflammatory drugs?
A
inhibit B and T cell responses, reduce transcription of cytokines and phagocytes.

How do these steroids work? (corticosteroids)
A
crosses cell membrane and binds to a steroid receptor. the steroid then enters the nucleus and binds to the hormone response element on DNA which can switch on/off transcription of proteins.
