Conversational Maxims are the general principles that people work together to communicate on the same page, offering a positive face towards the receiver.

Maxim of Quantity.

Maxim of Relevance.
Maxim of Manner.
What is the Maxim of Quantity?
It is not to say too much or too little to the person you’re talking to,
What is the Maxim of Quality?
It is to speak the truth, not to lie.
What is the Maxim of Manner?
It is to be clear and avoid ambiguity.
What is an Implicature?
An implicature is an implied meaning of what has been said to the receiver as a result of one of the maxims being broken.
