Contra-indications that require medical referral
Pregnancy - hair growth often temporary.
Hair from moles - to ensure no malignant cells present interference could cause cells to spread.
Heart conditions as medication can interfere with blood coagulation.
Hormone imbalance or endocrine disorders.
Clients under age of 16 - would need a doctors note if very distressed as hormones in puberty can cause excess anyway.
Contra-indications that prevent treatment.
Hepatitus HIV Skin cancer Electrical implants Haemophilia Infections skin disorders or diseases Predisposition to keloid scarring. Recent use of micro dermabrasion, laser or chemical peels. Aspirin.
Contra-indications that restrict treatment.
Epilepsy - but if on medication often safe.
Diabetes - offer shorter treatments with increased length of time between treatments.
Metal plates or pins - if not treating that area doctor may give approval.
Skin disorders such as psoriasis, eczema, dermatitus
Acne
Cuts or abrasions
Severe bruising
Recent scar tissue
Varicose veins.
