Level 3 - Masons Yard

Masons yard - Why did you recommend timber frame over a steel frame structure?

A

Closet wing -
* Requirement to gain best value and time
* Time savings to programme which then resulted in reduced preliminary cost.
* Reduced foundation size as timber frame has lower bearing capacity, resulting in reduced subs costs.
* Use of sustainable material

Q

How have you liaised with specialists and consultants to develop project specific design and construction solutions?

A
  • Design team & pre-start meetings provides the oppurtunity to give feedback on commercial issues considered.
  • Also by sharing my elemental cost plan, the project team can see how the design solution options compare and impact cost
  • Review the programme of both options
  • Review sustainability considerations
