Patellofemoral Pain- Eti
Anterior knee pain, runners knee- due to loose ligaments & patella or tight soft tissues. Due to trauma or repetitive use
Patellofemoral Pain- Sx
Pain in anterior knee with bending, lateral bending or tilting of patella. Increased patellar deviation
Patellofemoral Pain- Dx
Apprehension sign, patellar grind test, X-ray
Patellofemoral Pain- Tx
Stabilizing & strengthening exercise, ice, NSAIDs
Popliteal (Baker) cyst- Eti
Inflammation of bursa on popliteal fossa.
Popliteal (Baker) cyst- Sx
Tenderness & swelling, limited ROM, rupture leased to calf pain
Popliteal (Baker) cyst- Dx
Rule out infection, MRI to show rupture
Popliteal (Baker) cyst- Tx
Rest, elevation, triamcinalone injection
Osgood-Schlatter syndrome- Eti
Adolescents. Males Disorder in growing tibial tuberosity. Slef limiting
Osgood-Schlatter syndrome- Sx
Pain, swelling & tenderness over tibial tubercle. Worse with activity.
Osgood-Schlatter syndrome- Tx
Stretching, NSAIDs, ice
