A
Most common type of bursitis, caused by inflammation of bursa due to trauma, infection, arthritic conditions

Olecrannon- Sx
A
Oval to bolbous swelling at the tip of elbow. Does not affect ROM. Can be septic w/o fever

Olecrannon- Dx
A
Aspiration to rule out infection

Olecrannon- Tx
A
NSAIDs, steroid injections, heat & rest

Prepatellar- Eti
A
Most common site of bursa. Due to trauma- repetitive kneeling, infection or arthritic conditions. 4 bursa around each patella

Prepatellar- Sx
A
Focal swelling at any of 4 bursar surround extensor of knee. ROM intact

Trochanteric- Eti
A
Common in females with back pain & IT band tenderness, obesity

Q
Trochanteric-Sx
A
Pain and swelling between greater trochanter & IT band during motion- during abduction or adduction
